Nap Lajoie Rolling Ball photograph

Datecirca 1929
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie rolling a bocce ball. Lajoie rolls the ball similar to a bowling ball with his right hand and is in the follow-through phase of the rolling motion. Lajoie's left leg is bent in front of his with his left-hand resting on his thigh holding a handkerchief. Lajoie's right leg is bent behind him, and he stands on his toes. Lajoie wears a dark suit with thin, faint light-colored stripes, a white dress shirt, dark dress shoes, a dark tie with light-colored polka-dots, and a gray cabbie hat. There is a wooden building behind Lajoie with a wooden porch directly behind him with wooden benches. Lajoie rolls the ball on a dirt surface. Based on similar photographs, this photograph may have been taken around 1929.
