Babe Ruth Signing an Autograph photograph

Date1933 June 01
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Babe Ruth autographing a baseball. The caption (not shown) reads "Babe Ruth of the New York Yankees tonight played the role of auctioneer at the thrift house for the cause of Jewish charities. Among the articles auctioned off by the Babe was Dobbin Thrift, the only gift horse on the list. Mrs. Julius Ochs Adler heads the list of noted women operating the shop. Photo shows left to right - Bobby Stein, Babe Ruth, Mrs. Julius Ochs Adler and Richard Davega." There are empty boxes on the table that most likely held baseballs that Ruth was signing. Both of the boys are wearing baseball uniforms and Davega's uniform reads "Yankee" across the front.
