DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Honus Wagner and numerous excited young fans. Wagner is captured smiling widely while standing in front of a small wall, holding up his baseball bat. Wagner is dressed in the Pittsburgh Pirates road uniform. Behind the gate are countless smiling young boys who are all trying to make their way into the photograph. Some young boys are doing the peace symbol with their fingers. Another young fan is holding the bat with Wagner from behind the wall. The caption (not shown) on the back of the photograph states, "Diamond Clinic Philadelphia, PA. -- Famed old timer Hans Wagner reveals some of his battings secrets to kids at the Shibe Park baseball clinic. Youngsters attending the impromptu classes learn how to play good baseball. 5/14/45." Based on the caption and Wagner's uniform, this photograph was taken on May 14, 1945.
