BiographyJack Burdock played for the Brooklyn Atlantics of the National Association (1872-1873), New York Mutuals of the National Association (1874), Hartford Dark Blues of the National Association (1875), Hartford Dark Blues of the National League (1876-1877), Boston of the National League (1878-1888, known as Red Caps 1876-1882, then Beaneaters 1883-1906, 1883 as player-manager), Brooklyn Trolley-Dodgers of the American Association (1888), and the Brooklyn Bridegrooms of the National League (1891). During his playing career, Burdock umpired in the National Association (1872-1874).
