Double Header and Wild Cargo game

Datebetween 1930 and 1939
DescriptionRectangular metal game board surrounded by a black metal frame. The game board is double-sided, with a game featuring a baseball theme on one side and a game featuring a hunting theme on the opposite side. One side of the game board has a black, white and teal color scheme with instructions in black lettering for each game on the lower portion of the baseball-themed game board. There is a large baseball diamond in the center of this side and options for play along the top. There is a border around this game board of white circles and teal linear designs. Opposite side game board is slightly inset, with a black spring-loaded mechanism along the lower right side, meant to shoot out a small game piece. The game board has a red, orange and yellow color scheme and is designed with images of animals and small upright metal pegs in certain areas around the animals for the game piece to rest in once it has made its way onto the board. There are also names of the animals and numbers alongside each animal name, meant to show how many points for each animal. Animals include an elephant, gorilla, rhinoceros, leopard, tiger, lion, eagle, duck, pheasant, hawk, goose, and a falcon. "Wild Cargo" is in black lettering in the center. There are curved metal pieces along the top and bottom portions and in the center, surrounding the images of the animals and the small upright pegs. "Manufactured by / Lindstrom Tool & Toy Co. / Bridgeport, Conn." is in black lettering in the lower right corner of this side of the game board.
Bio/Historical NoteThis game was part of a set of three double-sided games included in the "Super 6 Chest of Games" set. The other games featured "Six Day Bike Race" and "Hot Spot" on one game board and "Wild West" and "High Ace" on the other game board. This particular game is titled "Double Header," while the game on the reverse side is titled "Wild Cargo" and is similar to bagatelle.
