DescriptionRectangular wooden plaque, vertically oriented, with a laminated image on the front of a certificate reading "Certificate of Lifetime Membership / This Certifies That / Henry Aaron / is a Life Member of the / National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, / having paid the sum of five hundred dollars into the Treasury of the National Office, / testifying forever to Faith in the Cause and Future of the Negro in the United States / and in the Foundation Principles of the American Republic. / In witness whereof the Board of Directors has caused this Certificate to be issued, / June, 1975" in black lettering against a cream-colored background. Towards the bottom of the certificate are four signatures, two on each side, with the NAACP's seal in the lower center. At the top center is an image of Abraham Lincoln's memorial. The back side of the plaque has a vertical cord for hanging. Edges of the plaque are painted gold.
