DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Connie Mack captured talking with his Philadelphia Athletics players during spring training prior to the start of the 1941 baseball season. Mack, center, is dressed in a suit and hat and looks is looking down at the baseball in his hands. The Athletics players, from left to right, are Les McCrabb, Tom Ferrick, Tex Shirley, and Felix Mackiewicz. They are all dressed in the Philadelphia Athletics road uniform. The players are all looking in the direction of Mack. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "Connie's A's Begin Serious Baseball Training Anaheim, Calif.--Moving camp from Carlsbad to Anaheim for serious baseball training, a few of the Philadelphia Athletics are shown talking things over during practice. Photo Shows (L to R) Pitcher Lester McCrabb, Tom Ferrick, Manager Connie Mack, Neuman Shirley and outfielder Felix Mackiewicz. 2/25/41." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on February 25, 1941.
