A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) (not shown) and states, "Connie Mack and Wife Separate Mrs. Cornelius McGillicuddy (left), wife of owner-manager Connie Mack (right) of the Philadelphia Athletics, disclosed in Philadelphia, April 22, that she and her husband have separated. This picture of the couple was made in Los Angeles, Calif., in December, 1944 when Connie celebrated his 82nd birthday." Based on the newspaper clipping, this photograph was taken in December of 1944.
