DescriptionA handwritten letter from Nap Lajoie to Alexander Cleland, August 23, 1937. The top right corner has Lajoie's address as Meritor, Ohio and the date. To the left, is Cleland's name and address, 149 Broadway, NY. Lajoie writes to let him know that he is sending baseball equipment, cap, shirt, pants, belt, and shoes for the Baseball Museum. He is also sending a baseball marked "Base Hit #3000," made in 1915 in Washington, D.C. He thanks him and all who voted him into the Hall of Fame. He and his wife look forward to a trip to visit the museum. It is signed "N. Lajoie" and the bottom left corner he writes that he sent the box to Cooperstown in Cleland's care. The verso (not shown) is blank.
