DescriptionA black-and-white photograph from the waist up of Sandy Koufax seated at a drafting table in an architecture class. Koufax is holding a ruler and pencil and turned to the left, facing the camera and smiling. The caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "Dodgers rookie southpaw goes to school in winter months. Sandy Koufax, promising young lefthander of the Brooklyn Dodgers, is not going to be idle during the off-season. He's enrolled at the School of General Studies at Columbia University where he is taking courses in architecture, graphics and physics. Here he is shown at the drafting board on the Columbia campus. The Winter Session at the University ends in January." According to the caption on the reverse, this photograph was taken on October 18, 1955.
