Letter from Ford Frick to Alexander Cleland

DescriptionA typed letter from Ford Frick to Alexander Cleland, March 29, 1939. It is written on National League letterhead, the top reads "National League of Professional Base Ball Clubs, RCA Building, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York." Below and to the right, is the date, and to the left is the recipient's name and address. Frick writes to Cleland informing him that a Mr. John Egan has three old baseballs, dated between 1860 and 1865, that he is willing to lend for the Cooperstown exhibit. Frick includes Egan's address and suggest that Cleland contact him if interested. It is signed "Ford Frick, president." The bottom left corner has the Baseball Centennial logo. To the right of the logo, handwritten, it reads "called Mr. Egan, he is sending balls to museum, 4/12/39." The verso (not shown) is blank.
