DescriptionA black-and-white negative of Mel Ott of the New York Giants captured at bat during a warm up before a game. Ott has his head turned towards the pitcher's mound and is holding his baseball bat out directly in front of him. His right foot is lifted off the ground. An unidentified catcher is squatting down behind Ott and is holding his catcher's glove open. Unidentified players are standing throughout the baseball field. Fans are visible in the bleacher seating in the background. Ott is wearing the New York Giants uniform, but it is indistinguishable whether it is a home or road uniform due to the jacket he is wearing. Based on Ott's time with the Giants, this negative was taken between 1926 and 1947.
