DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Mel Ott talking to a group of children. Ott is bent over and gesturing to a boy holding a bat. Another child is wearing a catcher's face mask. The children have small smiles on their faces. Unidentified adults are visible in the background as well as two police officers who are looking on from the edge of the stands. An unidentified stadium is in the background. Ott is dressed in a New York Giants uniform. The caption on the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Mel Ott + AOA UNAC kids." Based on Ott's uniform, his time with the Giants, and a stamp on the reverse (also not shown), this photograph was probably taken in 1948.
