His baseball mitt is on the ground beside him. Carleton is in the background warming up to pitch. The number 28 is on the back of Carleton's uniform. A few other unidentified Brooklyn Dodger players are in the background. Ebbets Field is in the background. Carleton and Reese are dressed in a Brooklyn Dodgers home uniform. Based on Carleton and Reese's uniforms and their time with the Dodgers, this negative was probably taken in 1940.
