DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Lefty Grove captured smiling at a nurse during a doctor's visit. The nurse, is looking down at Grove, while she is handing him a dose of medicine. Grove is seated in a chair and is wearing a robe. A caption on the front of the photograph (not shown) states, "11/27/56--Lefty Grove, 56-yr-old former pitcher, and a member of baseball's Hall of Fame, is shown in Memorial Hospital here 11/27 where he is undergoing a physical checkup. Grove was the last major league pitcher to win 30 games." This photograph was taken on November 27, 1956.
