DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Pie Traynor captured warming up before his turn at bat on the sidelines of the baseball field. Traynor has a serious expression as he looks forward. He is holding the bat over his shoulder and his feet are placed far apart. Traynor is dressed in a Pittsburgh Pirates home uniform. During his time with the Pirates, Traynor was the third baseman and later on the manager. Forbes Field is visible in the background. Based on Traynor's uniform and his time with the Pirates, this photograph was taken between 1923 and 1931.
