Roger Bresnahan Batting photograph

Date1914
DescriptionA black-and-white half-length action photograph of Roger Bresnahan batting. Bresnahan, shown from the waist up, wears a Chicago Cubs road uniform. Placing right hand over left on the handle of the bat, Bresnahan holds the bat chest height, angled backwards, above his right shoulder. Bresnahan looks to his left, in the direction of the oncoming ball. Based on the shadows present on the uniform of Bresnahan, this image was captured out of doors. The close cropping of the photograph indicates that this image of Bresnahan was extracted from a larger, more complete photograph. Due to the specific design of the uniform worn by Bresnahan, this image was captured during the 1914 season, the sole year that Chicago wore road jerseys that read, "Chicago," and have the team logo with a bear on the left sleeve.
