DescriptionA black-and-white full-length portrait photograph of Frank Chance standing in a stadium. Facing the camera, Chance wears a winter dress coat and fedora. Standing with right foot in front of left, Chance leans against a railing with his left elbow. Holding a pair of gloves in his left hand, he rests his right hand in the pocket of his coat. With a cigar in his mouth, Chance looks forward to the camera, establishing eye contact. Snow covers the grandstand in the background. Handwritten on the reverse (not shown), in pencil, is the phrase ,"Frank Chance 1923 Mgr. Boston Red Sox." The markings in each corner are not original and indicate where the image is to be cropped for publication.
