DescriptionA black-and-white half-length portrait photograph of Frank Chance. Chance, shown from the waist up, depicted in 3/4 profile, wears a Chicago Cubs road uniform. Standing with both arms down by his sides, Chance looks forward to a point in the distance and to the right of the camera. Captured on the field, a teammate and the grandstand are visible in the background. The markings on the surface of the photograph are not original and indicate where it is to be cropped for publication. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in blue ink, are the phrases, "LAST TIME USED DEC 17 1922," "LAST TIME USED AUG 26 1923," and "LAST TIME USED NOV 11 1923." Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Chance, this photograph was taken in 1910, the only year Chicago wore pinstripe road uniforms with the team name in the logo and without blue around the collar and down the buttons.
