DescriptionA black-and-white portrait photograph of Frank Chance. Chance, shown from the chest up, depicted in profile, wears a Chicago Cubs road jersey and baseball cap. Chance looks forward to a point in the distance and to the right of the camera. The markings on the surface of the photograph are not original. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in black ink, is the date, "MAR 14 1933." Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Chance, this image was captured in 1909 or 1910, the only two years Chicago wore jerseys with "cadet"-style collars and two tone-caps.
