Jim Gilliam World Series glove

DescriptionBrown leather left-handed glove with four finger stalls, a thumb stall and a piece of leather between the forefinger and thumb stalls as webbing. Tops of the finger stalls are connected by a leather lace. Palm side bottom edge is lined with metal grommets and leather laces. Palm side has several stamps including "For The Professional Player / Deep Well / Heart of the Hide / XPGS Rawlings." "Anchored Web" with patent information is stamped on the inside of the webbing. Palm side has laces running up the thumb stall, up the pinky stall and across the heel area. Back side has an opening at the base of the finger stalls with a wrist strap fastened with a knotted leather lace. There is a red "Rawlings" manufacturers label on the wrist strap with "Snugger Adjustment" to the left. "Edge-U-Cated Heel / 100% Nylon Sewn" with patent information is stamped on the back side of the thumb stall. There is a handwritten number in black ink above "Edge," scribbled over, and "19" handwritten in black ink to the left of "100%" on the back side of the thumb stall.
Bio/Historical NoteDodgers third baseman Jim Gilliam wore this glove in the 1965 World Series, when his defense helped clinch the championship for Los Angeles. The Dodgers defeated the Minnesota Twins, four games to two.
