DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Connie Mack and his grandson, Connie Mack III, captured standing in a dugout. Mack whispers into his grandson's ear. Both stand with their left leg on the edge of the dugout. Connie Mack III holding a baseball bat in his hand and wears a Philadelphia Athletics uniform. Mack is in a dress shirt and tie. A newspaper clipping is affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) and states, "Advice From The Sage Connie Mack (right), octogenarian manager of the Philadelphia Athletics, passes our a word of advice to his grandson, Connie Mack III, 17, before the White Sox-Athletics game in Chicago, Aug. 20. Young Connie is traveling with the Athletics." Based on the newspaper clipping this photograph was taken on August 20, 1947. Connie Mack III is the son of Roy Mack.
