DescriptionWhite shirt, size 46, with blue pinstripes and eight buttons down the front placket. Front has "Mets" and "14" in blue and orange appliques. Proper left front shirttail has a manufacturer label with a sizing label to the right and a label with washing instructions below. There are four ventilation holes underneath each sleeve. Proper left sleeve has a circular team logo patch. Interior back of the neck has a white fabric label, "46 69 14." Reverse of the shirt has "14" in blue and orange appliques.
Bio/Historical NoteShirt worn by New York Mets manager Gil Hodges during the 1969 season, in which the "Miracle Mets" upset the Baltimore Orioles to win their first World Series title. That year, the Mets became the first expansion team in Major League history to win a World Series. It was also their first season with a record over .500. They swept the Atlanta Braves in the first-ever NLCS. It was Hodges' second of four years as manager of the Mets.
