Tony Gwynn Batting slide
Date1984 July
DescriptionA full-length action color image of Tony Gwynn batting. Gwynn, shown in profile, wears a San Diego Padres home uniform, batting gloves, and helmet. Depicted in his follow through position, Gwynn supports his weight between his straight, front right leg and his bent, back left leg. Only the toe of his left cleat touches the ground. Following the momentum of his swing, Gwynn rotates his upper body to his right. While looking forward, Gwynn holds his bent, left arm across his body, shoulder height. Gwynn, extending his straight, right arm back behind his body, grips the bat in his right hand, holding it waist height, parallel to the ground. Captured in-game, an occupied stadium and dugout can be seen in the background. The creation date of this image was provided by the donor.
