Tony Gwynn Running slide
Date1984 May
DescriptionA full-length action color image of Tony Gwynn running to first. Gwynn, shown in 3/4 profile, wears a San Diego Padres home uniform, batting gloves, and helmet. Captured mid-step, having just made contact with the ball, Gwynn supports his weight between his bent, front right leg, and his straight, back left leg. Only the toe of both Gwynn's left and right cleat touch the ground. Leaning forward, Gwynn turns his head to his left. Gwynn holds both straight arms on either side of his body, while gripping the bat with his right hand. Gwynn holds the bat angled downwards, knee height. Captured in-game, an occupied stadium and dugout can be seen in the background. The creation date of this image was provided by the donor.
