DescriptionA full-length action color photograph of Tony Gwynn batting. Shown in profile, wearing a San Diego Padres alternate uniform, batting gloves, and helmet, Gwynn is depicted in his follow through position. Supporting his weight between his straight, front right leg and his back, bent left leg, Gwynn rotates his upper body to his right, following the momentum of his swing. Placing his left hand over right on the grip of the bat, Gwynn holds the bat head height, on his right side. Looking forward, Gwynn follows the trajectory of the ball. Taken in-game, an occupied stadium can be seen in the background. Based on the specific design of the uniform worn by Gwynn, the 'swinging friar' alternate logo seen on the left sleeve of his jersey, and the included copyright information, this photograph was most likely captured in 1996.
