DescriptionA full-length action color photograph of Tony Gwynn completing his 3,000th hit. Shown in 3/4 profile, Gwynn wears a San Diego Padres road uniform, helmet, and batting gloves. Depicted mid-swing, Gwynn supports his weight between his straight, front right leg and his back, bent left leg. Placing his left hand over right on the grip of the bat, Gwynn holds the bat out in front of his body, waist height. Gwynn directs his gaze forward and down, in the direction of the ball, he has just made contact with. In the lower left of the image is the San Diego Padres team logo and with the text, in blue, that reads, "Tony Gwynn 3000th Hit August 6, 1999."
