Bio/Historical NoteBaseball hit by Dave Kingman of the Oakland Athletics through the first Teflon-coated fiberglass layer of the roof of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome on May 4, 1984 versus the Minnesota Twins. Kingman hit a towering pop-up in the 4th inning off Frank Viola of the Twins, the ball going through an 8 inch drainage hole in the roof about 180 feet above home plate. The ball was later recovered by a member of the Twins field crew.
