DescriptionNatural stain wooden bat, 30 ounces, with "Louisville Slugger / 125 / Powerized" in the center of the barrel and "Genuine K48 / Louis Whitaker (facsimile signature) / Detroit Tigers" near the end of the barrel. "1" is handwritten in black ink on the barrel end tip as well as the knob end.
Bio/Historical NoteBat used by Lou Whitaker of the Detroit Tigers to hit the last home run in the eighth inning against the Chicago White Sox on May 28, 1995. The White Sox defeated the Tigers, 14-12. The combined 12 home runs by both teams set a major-league record. Whitaker's home run was the 10th solo home run, another record; the seventh homer by a Tiger, a club record (since broken); and finally, extra-base hit number 21, an American League record.
