DescriptionNatural stain wooden bat, 32 ounces, with black "Rawlings" logo in the center of the barrel and "Big Stick / Tony Fernandez / Blue Jays" near the end of the barrel. There is a blue painted stripe around the perimeter of the taper to the left of the manufacturers logo. Barrel end tip is cupped. Barrel is signed in black ink, "Tony Fernandez." Knob end is imprinted "456 A / 409 9" and has "33 / Fernandez" handwritten in black ink.
Bio/Historical NoteBat used by Tony Fernandez of the Toronto Blue Jays to record his 2,178th career hit on June 20, 1999 at the SkyDome, singling home the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. His 2,178th career hit surpassed Julio Franco for most hits by a Dominican-born player. The Blue Jays defeated the Kansas City Royals, 2-1.
