Phil Niekro glove

DescriptionTan leather left-handed fielder's glove with four finger stalls and a thumb stall laced together along the top edges. The webbing between the forefinger and thumb stalls is made up of three pieces of leather interlocked together to make one continuous pocket. "Dual Hinge" is stamped vertically down the webbing on the palm side. "Grip-Tite Pocket / 1594 / The A2000 / Wilson / Snap Action" is etched into the leather of the palm. The back side of the glove has "Pat. No. 2231204 / Canada / 398340-1941 / Licensed Under / U.S. Pat. No. 2722007" stamped into the pinky finger stall. "The A2000 -XL" is written up the back side of the webbing. "Nylon Stitched / BW" is stamped in cursive lettering near the base of the thumb stall. "Niekro" is handwritten in green ink on the back side of the thumb stall. There is a circular black and gold patch near the base of the thumb. "W / USA" is stitched in gold onto the patch. "Pro-Back" is stamped in the leather above this patch along with "35" handwritten in black ink.

Bio/Historical NoteGlove used by Phil Niekro during his career which spanned from 1964 to 1987. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997.
