DescriptionWhite polyester shirt, size 48, with six clear buttons down the front placket and blue pinstripes. Proper left front chest has a large circular patch, "Cubs," in red lettering surrounded by a blue circle. Proper left sleeve has small round patch, a bear cub surrounded by a red "C." Proper left front shirttail has manufacturer label, "Majestic / Authentic Collection," with a flag tag, "48." Manufacturer label has "3000" handwritten in black ink. Reverse of the shirt has "31" in blue and red appliques with an MLB logo patch at the top back of neck. Interior back of the neck has a white label with black stitching, "31 48 05 S4."
Bio/Historical NoteShirt worn by pitcher Greg Maddux of the Chicago Cubs on July 26, 2005 when he recorded his 3,000th career strikeout. Maddux became the ninth pitcher in MLB history to record 300 wins and 3,000 strikeouts during his career. The San Francisco Giants defeated the Cubs 3-2.
