DescriptionBlack, red and gray shoes, size 10, with black laces and a large perforated flap which extends across the laces and secures with hook-and-loop fasteners. This flap has white embroidered Japanese symbols on the outer side and the right shoe flap is signed in silver ink on the outer side. Inner and outer sides have white manufacturer logos against a red background. Right shoe has additional rubber toe reinforcement. Heels have "18" embroidered in white with MLB Authentication hologram stickers below. Bottom soles are red and white plastic with white manufacturer logos in the center and nine metal spikes. "324" is handwritten in blue ink on the bottom sole of the right shoe.
Bio/Historical NoteRed Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka, the first Japanese pitcher to start a World Series game, wore these spikes in his Game 3 victory over Colorado in the 2007 World Series. The Red Sox swept the Rockies four games to zero to win the 2007 World Series.
