DescriptionWooden bat, 31 ounces, with natural stain handle and knob and black painted barrel. Center of the barrel has a silver decal, "Louisville Slugger / M9 / 125 / Powerized," with "Genuine S318 / Grant Green / Oakland Athletics" near the end of the barrel. There is an MLB Authentication hologram sticker next to "Green." Underside of the barrel has TPX and MLB logos. There is a black adhesive stripe around the taper where the color changes. Barrel end tip is cupped. Knob end is stamped "4/15/2011 33.5/31.0."
Bio/Historical NoteThe 2011 Futures Game, held at Chase Field in Phoenix on July 10, showcased the best players in the minor leagues. Shortstop Grant Green, an A's prospect from the Midland RockHounds (Texas League/AA), swung this bat to hit two doubles, leading the United States to a 6-4 victory against the World Team. The performance earned him the game's MVP Award.
