DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of, from left to right, Honus Wagner, Herbert Hoover, and Babe Ruth. Wagner, who is wearing a three piece suit, is captured in profile holding a cigar up to his mouth. Wagner also holds a piece of paper in his left hand. Hoover is dressed in a tuxedo, smiling directly at the camera. Babe Ruth, like Wagner, is captured in profile smirking and wearing a tuxedo. An unidentified gentleman is in the background. On the back of the photograph (not shown) is a clipping of this image with the caption, "THREE EX'S. Interesting threesome at Baseball Writers' Dinner last night was a former President of the United States and two ex-diamond greats. Herbert Hoover in center is flanked on left by Honus Wagner and Babe Ruth." The back of the photograph is also stamped with the date, "Feb 5 1940." Based on this information, the photograph was probably taken in 1940.
