DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Bob Feller with Jim Hegan and Hank Greenberg holding a calendar. Feller, shown from the waist up, wearing a suit and a tie, stands between Hegan and Greenberg. Feller faces the camera smiling while his gaze is directed upwards to a point to the right of the camera. Feller holds the top of the calendar with his right hand while he uses to his left hand to both hold the bottom of the calendar and point to the number 20. All three men simultaneously hold portions of the same calendar that displays the month of February. A caption (not shown) adjacent to the photo, typed in black ink, reads, "(CD1) CLEVELAND, FEB. 9--BATTERY MATES SIGN--Catcher Jim Hegan (left) and pitcher Bob Feller (CENTER) are shown here with General Manager Hank Greenberg after signing their 12th and 17th contracts, respectively, with the Cleveland Indians. Hegan and Feller point to numbers on the calendar corresponding to the number of years they've been with the Indians. Both were in the armed forces during World War II. 1956. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in purple ink, is the date "FEB 29 1956," the probable publication date of this image.
