DescriptionA black-and-white half-length photograph of Tris Speaker sitting in uniform. Speaker, shown from the waist up, wears a Cleveland Indians road uniform. Leaning forward, facing the camera, Speaker establishes eye contact. Several facial features and portions of Speaker's clothing have been modified to appear more legible for publication. The white background is not original to the photograph and exists as a further modification. The lines visible on the surface of the photograph and the system of notation surrounding Speaker's face, the markings that resemble the letter "K", indicate where the image to be cropped for publication. Stamped on the reverse (not shown), in blue ink, are the following publication dates, "SEP 22 1925," OCT 19 1927," JUN 10 1930," "DEC 27 1933," and "JAN 20 1937," each with the phrase "LAST TIME USED."
