Bob Feller and Sons photograph

Date1962
DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Bob Feller standing between two of his three teenage sons, Steve (left) and Martin (right). All three men are shown from the hips up and look directly at the camera. Cleveland memorabilia hangs in the background, including an oversized key with Feller's name on it. Steve holds a baseball bat with both hands across his body while Martin is holding a football. The blue markings above their heads indicate where the photo is to be cropped upon publication. A clipping of the caption featured in the newspaper along this image is pasted on the reverse. It reads, "A HOUSE DIVIDED: Former Indian great Bobby Feller has no problem with son Steve, 16 (left) because he's interested in baseball. But what does he do with Marty, 14. Feller's not qualified to advise on football. Both lads are proud of their dad who's a candidate for Hall of Fame." On the reverse stamped in red ink is the date "USED JAN 23,1962." Based on when Feller was nominated for the Hall of Fame, this photograph was taken in 1962.
