The caption (not shown) reads "George Herman Ruth, better known to [...]/Horsehide trade as Babe, is shown with the Nazareth Orphan/Band as it greeted him on his arrival at Los Angeles." Ruth is dressed in a suit and holding a mallet in one hand and possibly a cigar in the other. The boys are pictured in band uniforms and playing a variety of instruments. There is a sign in the background that reads "Van Nuys Orphan Boys Band Nazareth House Welcomes Babe Ruth."
