The caption (not shown) reads "New York, Dec. 23 -- Always a favorite among children, Babe Ruth, the former king of swat, found a lot of youngsters who took him for portly Santa when he attended the Christmas party and show given here today by workers of the W.P.A. theater project. Here the Babe is entrusted with a few messages for the big fellow at the North Pole." Ruth is seated in a row where there are children on both sides of him and rows of children behind him.
