The caption (not shown) reads "Baseball fans and art critics are in somewhat of a lather over this statue of Babe Ruth, being exhibited in the Downtown Gallery, New York City. The Bambino's legs, interpreted in clay by Reuben Nakian, are causing much head-shaking, the consensus being that they are too big. The Babe is shown in his favorite pose-watching a long one go over the fence."
