DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of George Sisler captured in profile warming up before going up at bat alongside an unidentified baseball stadium. Sisler has a strained expression on his face. He is holding the bat over his right shoulder with only one hand. His left foot is twisting in the ground. Sisler is dressed in a St. Louis Browns uniform, but it is indistinguishable whether or not it is a home or road uniform. The unidentified stadium in the background is filled with numerous fans. A newspaper caption affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "George Sisler of St. Louis Browns has broken his own record for continuous batting by making one or more hits in 15 consecutive games since opening of American League season." Based on Sisler's uniform, his time with the Browns, and a date stamp on the reverse (also not shown), this photograph was probably taken in 1925.
