Howard P. Savage Junior Baseball trophy

DescriptionSterling silver trophy mounted atop a circular black plastic tiered base. Base has four silver shield-shaped placards attached with three screws each. Each placard has "Won By" engraved at the top and a listing of states and years below. Trophy itself is comprised of a base decorated with laurel leaves, a pedestal with an engraved depiction of a batter and catcher on the front side above "The Howard P. Savage / Junior Baseball / Trophy," and a fluted pillar with three vertical bats leaning against it and three small baseballs. On the front is an "American Legion" emblem in silver and blue enamel direction above one of the small baseballs and below the start of the fluted pillar. There is a robed female figure with wings, holding a laurel wreath at the very top.

Bio/Historical NoteThis Howard P. Savage Trophy is awarded annually since 1928 to the American Legion Post that wins the World Series. The last date on the trophy is 1961.
