Koufax is pictured from the waist up, angled away from, and above, the camera.The stands of Shea Stadium are visible behind Koufax. The caption on the reverse (not shown) reads, "A night to remember - Mets owner Mrs. Charles Shipman Payson presents a plaque on behalf of the club to the Dodgers' Sandy Koufax before last night's game at Shea Stadium. At right, Sandy smiles during ceremonies honoring him. He has a solid grip on two trophies - in his left hand he holds the Babe Ruth Award presented by the New York Baseball Writers Association as the outstanding player of the 1963 World Series and in his right hand he holds the New York Mets award." Based on when Koufax was awarded the trophies, this photograph was taken in 1964.
