DescriptionA black-and-white negative of Pee Wee Reese captured grinning while swinging his baseball bat during practice. Reese is slightly bent in his batting stance and is holding the bat in his left hand as he reaches for it with his right hand. Reese's baseball glove is on the ground in front of him. Reese is dressed in a Brooklyn Dodgers home uniform. Several other unidentified Brooklyn Dodgers players are captured on the field practicing. Two of the other players have numbers visible on the back of the uniforms. The player with the number 5 on the back of his uniform is probably Cookie Lavagetto and the player with the number 31 on the back of his uniform is probably Gene Moore. An unidentified gentleman is captured on field wearing a dress coat and hat. Ebbets Field is visible in the background. Based on Reese's uniform and his time with the Dodgers, this negative was probably taken in 1940.
