DescriptionA black-and-white photograph of Lefty Grove captured in profile while sitting on a chair taking in a baseball game. Grove has his head turned to the side and has a serious expression on his face. He is resting his face in his right hand. Grove has his legs crossed and his right arm propped on his knee as his left leans against a table. He is dressed in a suit. A newspaper caption affixed to the back of the photograph (not shown) states, "Here's Robert Moses (Lefty) Grove, the hold man of the Boston Red Sox, as he looked on May 21 when he came out to watch his teammates play the St. Louis Browns, whom he had defeated the previous day, 16 to 2, for his seventh victory of the current season." This photograph was taken on May 21, 1938.
