Neal Ball Unassisted Triple Play shirt

DescriptionWool cream-colored shirt with a brown collar and four white buttons (second from top missing) down the front half-placket. There is a brown "C" patch on the proper left chest. Sleeves have four white buttons along the edges with sleeve extenders attached to extend the length of the sleeves. Each sleeve extender has two buttons near the edge of the cuff. There is a remnant of brown embroidery at the interior back of the neck and "BALL" written in faded marker in this area as well.
Bio/Historical NoteShirt worn by Cleveland Indians shortstop Neal Ball when he turned the first unassisted triple play in modern baseball history on July 19, 1909 at Cleveland's League Park. In the second inning of the game against the Boston Red Sox, Ball caught Amby McConnell's line drive, stepped on second base to retire Heinie Wagner, and then tagged outfielder Jake Stahl as he was advancing toward second base.
