DescriptionGold oval-shaped watch fob with an eagle with outstretched wings at the top below a loop. Front of the fob features two crossed baseball bats with a baseball in the center above them. There is a clear gem in the center of the baseball. Below the crossed bats is a ribbon that runs the width of the fob that has "World Series / Umpire" in blue enamel lettering. Bottom tip of the fob has "1925" in elongated lettering. In the background behind all of this is a laurel wreath. Reverse of the fob has "Presented To / By The / Commissioner / Of / Baseball" in engraved lettering with engraved laurel leaves and a small manufacturer stamp at the bottom.
Bio/Historical NotePlayers are not the only recipients of World Series jewelry. Only the best umpires are named to call a Series, and they receive appropriate memento. Today, umpires receive rings; this is a 1925 World Series umpire's watch fob.
