Facing the camera, Speaker, with his right hand shakes Evans' right hand while gripping Evan's right arm with his left hand. Both men look down at this embrace. Evans in contrast stands behind the podium, in profile to the camera. Evans, wearing a suit and tie, grips the podium with his left hand, with his right he shakes Speaker's hand. A caption below the photograph (not shown) states, "DAL-31-1/11/51-DALLAS, TEXAS--Tris Speaker, L. one-time baseball great for Cleveland Indians, chokes with emotion as he receives congratulation from Wilbur Evans, R, after being named first man to the The Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
