DescriptionA black-and-white full-length action photograph of Jimmie Foxx fielding. Fox, facing the camera, wears a Boston Red Sox Spring training uniform. Captured mid-jump, having just caught the ball, Foxx is shown in the air. While jumping, Foxx raises his right arm, that is bent at the elbow, chest height across his body, his left arm extends overhead. Visible in the glove, worn on his left hand, is the ball he has successfully caught. Turning his head to his left, Foxx looks upwards at his gloved hand. The scale of the bleachers in the background indicate that this image was captured at an amateur ballpark rather than at a professional stadium. A caption typed in black ink, pasted on the reverse (not shown), reads, "THE FOXX HANGS HIGH AND JIMMY FOXX, BOSTON RED SOX FIRST BASEMAN, HUNG ON TO THIS ONE DURING SPRING TRAINING MARCH 9 AT SARASOTA, FLA. A LITTLE LOWER, PUH-LEEZE! 3/10/38."
